The Shanghai Gold Exchange announced on 31 August 2026 that Chow Tai Seng Jewellery (Hong Kong) Co., Limited and Glory Town Holdings Limited have been admitted as international members, and that it has approved the termination of the international membership of China Zheshang Bank Co., Ltd. Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Branch, ANZ Bank (China) Co., Ltd. Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Sub-Branch and CITIC Securities Finance (HK) Limited. Two admissions and three terminations were carried in one notice. The exchange’s list of members for the International Board now shows both new names and none of the three that left.
International Board membership is the access condition for the SGEI contracts. iAu99.99 settles against a 1 kg gold ingot of fineness no less than 99.99% and iAu99.5 against a 12.5 kg ingot of fineness no less than 99.5%, both delivery-versus-payment, both delivered T+0 at SGEI certified vaults, with physicals or cash withdrawable from T+1. The quality standard for each admits bullion produced by SGE-certified producers meeting SGEB1-2002 or by producers certified by the London Bullion Market Association, so the deliverability test sits on the accreditation the refiner held, not on the individual bar. The same roster carries refiners and jewellery houses alongside banks: Heraeus Metals Hong Kong Ltd., Metalor Technologies SA, MKS PAMP SA and Valcambi SA hold International Board membership, as do Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Company Limited and Chow Sang Sang Jewellery Company Limited. An institution without membership reaches the board through a member, which makes 31 August an operational date for anyone whose access ran through China Zheshang Bank’s Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Branch, ANZ Bank (China)’s Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone Sub-Branch or CITIC Securities Finance (HK) Limited: that access ends with the membership and continues only under another member. Where an internal counterparty file records SGE international membership as a verification point, the evidence in it carries the date of the roster it was read from, and those three entities fail that check from 31 August 2026.
The notice covers membership of the International Board. Contract specifications and the SGEI certified-vault list are set by the Shanghai Gold Exchange, and Good Delivery accreditation of a producer is held with the London Bullion Market Association.
