Matrixdock launches XAUm on Circle’s Arc, with reserves at Brink’s and Malca-Amit

Matrixdock announced on 23 September 2026 the launch of XAUm on Arc, the blockchain built by Circle, with eligible redemptions paid in USDC on the same day once the required transaction evidence is submitted. The release states that each XAUm represents one troy ounce of 99.99% gold, sourced from LBMA Good Delivery refineries and held in allocated form at facilities operated by Brink’s and Malca-Amit in Hong Kong SAR and Singapore. It lists four verification instruments: token-to-bar allocation records, monthly reserve asset statements, an onchain proof of reserves, and physical audits by Bureau Veritas.

Matrixdock’s bankruptcy-remoteness disclosure places the token issuer and the asset-holding entities in special purpose vehicles under a purpose trust, segregated from Matrixdock’s balance sheet, with a separate vehicle for each of XAUm, XAGm and STBT. The allocated bars therefore stand with the XAUm asset-holding vehicle, and a token holder’s position runs to the token issuer under XAUm’s terms. Each token is one troy ounce of weight, so any bar heavier than an ounce backs many tokens at once: a 1 kg bar carries 32.15 troy ounces. Among the four instruments, the token-to-bar allocation record is the one that connects a token to an identified bar; Bureau Veritas confirms the bars present at a facility on its audit date, and the monthly statement and the proof of reserves report totals.

The same-day route pays USDC and leaves the metal where it is; Matrixdock states that it changes none of the custody, sale or settlement mechanics of the physical asset. The release names two operators and two cities without assigning bars to either. Where a given bar sits decides which operator releases it and under which city’s export formalities it leaves, and the release counts physical delivery outside London in days of logistics and verification.

Matrixdock limits its references to Hong Kong SAR and Singapore to the location of the vaulting facilities and states that they do not indicate the availability of XAUm there. Eligibility for the same-day route, and the evidence it requires, are set by XAUm’s own terms.
