Shanghai Gold Exchange reports 513,270 kg delivered and 79,840 kg withdrawn in July

The Shanghai Gold Exchange reported gold delivery volume of 513,270.08 kg for July 2026 against trading volume of 1,084,949.28 kg, a delivery ratio of 47.31%. The same table records withdrawal volume of 79,840.10 kg for the month, and 678,168.86 kg withdrawn against 4,720,896.40 kg delivered for the year to date. Both lines sit in the exchange’s monthly Data Highlights for July, published in August 2026.

Delivery and withdrawal are counted separately in that table. Delivery settles a contract into metal held inside the exchange’s certified vault network; withdrawal is metal leaving it, and July’s 79,840.10 kg is 15.6% of the 513,270.08 kg delivered. The year-to-date lines run at 14.4% on the same comparison, so July repeats the year rather than departing from it. Metal that settles and stays is a weight position at a certified vault: it carries no serial number and no weight list, and a bar becomes identifiable to a holder at withdrawal. For metal intended for a vault outside the mainland, the withdrawal line is the one that governs, and in July it reads 79,840.10 kg. The 47.31% ratio is computed against 1,084,949.28 kg, while the same document puts July trading volume across all Au products at 6,942,719.08 kg; quoted without its denominator the ratio does not describe the exchange’s gold turnover. Delivery is reported across contract lines coded by fineness and weight — Au99.99, Au99.95, Au100g, PGC30g — so 513,270.08 kg aggregates more than one deliverable standard. Two lines in the same table carry a Hong Kong designation, IPAu99.99HK and IPAu99.5HK, with July trading volumes of 2,002.00 kg and 3,600.00 kg.

The tables cover the Shanghai Gold Exchange’s own contracts and its certified vaults for July 2026. Deliverable brands and vault certification are set by the exchange; movement of gold across the mainland border is licensed by the People’s Bank of China.
